OCEAN COUNTY TO HOLD ENERGY EXPO
TOMS RIVER – Ocean County will host a Product Display and Consultation Services Expo for public officials
providing information on energy conservation on Friday, June 5.
The expo will be held at the Ocean County Department of Buildings and Grounds, Building 5, 239 Washington St.,
here, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We are aware that many government agencies throughout Ocean County are eligible to receive funding from one or more of
the federal energy grant programs currently available,” said Ocean County Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari, liaison to the
Department of Buildings and Grounds. “Our product display and consultation services expo will offer information on
alternative ways to conserve energy.”
Ocean County has implemented a number of energy conservation measures in its more than 130 county governments
buildings from solar tubes to solar panels to upgrading lighting fixtures and heating and air conditioning systems.
In addition, Ocean County was the first in the state to complete a comprehensive energy master plan outlining
long term energy conservation goals that provide both environmental and financial benefits.
“We will be discussing different types of products used to help Ocean County ‘Go Green,’ such as our organic fertilizer,
environmentally friendly paint, solar tubes and panels, and cleaning products,” said William Santos, Superintendent of
the Department of Buildings and Grounds.
A similar exhibit of the products and services shown at the expo will be available to the public on Saturday, June 6
during the Toms River Founder’s Day celebration. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Washington and Main
Streets, here.
