LIST YOUR TOURISM EVENTS
ON COUNTY'S WEBSITE
TOMS RIVER - Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari reminds organizations and businesses that
the Ocean County Tourism website lists events of interest to tourists for the entire year on the
Internet at www.oceancountytourism.com.
"By listing events that far in advance, we make the information readily available to help
residents, potential visitors, and organizations with long term planning," he said. "Other media
provide more detailed information as the event approaches. Our calendar is more useful months
in advance to help grandparents decide what weeks would be best to invite company or their
grandchildren, particularly if they want to be sure there is something to do."
Vicari said local organizations could use the site when planning their own events to try to
avoid conflicts or to schedule compatible events on adjacent days, something that might
encourage overnight stays and attract more out-of-the-area money into the local economy.
The site also has a tourism Internet directory listing for accommodations, attractions and
other websites of interest to tourists. For information, contact Ocean County Tourism at 732-

Toms River residents Robert A. Holland and Roberta Walker volunteer their services to
the tourism community. Holland hosts the site as a volunteer project. Walker
contributes her services as the calendar coordinator.
"We are really appreciative of their interest in promoting tourism as it is a daily task to
keep the calendar updated and current," Vicari said.
